WHO WE ARE
After thirteen years of working in some of the most prestigious law firms in the U.S. and selected as a "Forty Attorneys Under 40 to Watch" in 2011, Jamie Moorhead founded the Moorhead Law Group, LLC in 2012 as a focused, hard-working law firm based in Chicago, with a cost-effective practice that is national in scope. The firm concentrates in three areas: commercial real estate, conservation, and sports law, all on a national basis. Clients have noted the firm’s fair and responsive approach, sound practical advice, and ability to get transactions done on time, on budget, and without surprises.
A majority of Jamie's time focuses on commercial real estate, and he concentrates particularly on representing national and regional companies as tenants in retail, office, warehouse, and industrial leases. Typical clients include high-end retailers, public global companies, law firms, venture capital companies, manufacturers, resort properties, and timber companies. Jamie's practice includes purchases and sales, land use, zoning, development, and property disputes.
Jamie also works on the development, economic enhancement and conservation of natural and rural land. He is affiliated with Field Sport Concepts, Ltd. and has experience in land use, natural resource, water law, conservation, and conservation easements.
Previously the Communications Manager with the Motorola Cycling Team from 1994-1996, Jamie represents Olympic-level athletes in international and national sports law cases through the U.S. Olympic Committee's Ombudsman office.
In 2014, Jamie published his first book, Tenant Leasing 101, available on Amazon. He currently writes the ‘Sports, Business, and the Law’ column in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and produces the firm’s blog. His writing on real estate, conservation, and sports law is regularly published by the American Bar Association and national publications. He was the Editor-in-Chief of a legal magazine and edited a legal newspaper from 1996-1999 and handled corporate communications for the Motorola Professional Cycling Team in the mid-1990's.
Jamie grew up in the Chicago suburbs and graduated from Loyola Academy in 1990. Jamie and his wife, originally from coastal Georgia, live in suburban Chicago with their eight-year-old son and six-year-old daughter.
